Sorry for not updating again - I have been overwhelmed by revision and GCSEs and the rest of my spare time (or what was meant to be my revision time) I have spent riding. As some of you will have seen, I have been active on my twitter - follow me here for regular updates.
March ended well - on the 20th we went to the Dengie Pony Club Winter League Dressage Area Final (what a mouthful). Ceilidh was one of the youngest horse there, aged 5, and was very mature despite the chaotic atmosphere and spooky flowers at the top of the arena. It was only our 5th competition together, and following our last competition where we scored a frustrating 57%, I was glad to come 12th in such a competitive field. We got some very fair and encouraging comments from the judges and I was delighted for my usually hot-headed young horse for her being so well behaved.

In April, we decided that Ceilidh's flat work had advanced enough to begin teaching her to jump. She began over a small grid and then we sized up to doing a few fences on a figure of eight. We haven't done much competing since as she is coming on so fast with her jumping - we decided that our money would be best spent continuing in this vein.
In early May, I took Pru to Iping for XC schooling. Having been closed for the last year, we were some of the first to go around the new jumps - we all had a fantastic day. The weather was perfect and so was the ground - it helped that I managed to stay on board too! We had a few major "oh crap" moments but I felt Pru has become much braver and we are looking forward to some huntertrials and ODEs there later in the season.
Over the summer, I have 12 weeks to be spending with the horses, so I will definitely be updating the blog more! I hope to be writing guest articles for other blogs soon, as well as updating my own. I am also looking to be a brand ambassador for a company for next season - if you'd be interested you can contact me via email or on Twitter.
