First of all I want to apologise for a lack of updates this year. I suppose other things have got in the way after a busy year, but I have made a New Year's Resolution - to update this blog once a week.
A change of horses
My gorgeous Socks sadly left us for a lovely family in June 2015 due to me outgrowing her. At only 14hh, she was incredibly honest and brave to take me to the heights she did despite my size. I am incredibly proud of what we achieved together, seeing as I took her as a very green six year old to competing at 90cm and getting my first 9 in dressage she has been one of the best things that ever happened to me! It was very hard to come to terms with letting her go, but I'm glad to see she's getting on so well in her new home. Here are some photos of us together.
This was our first competition together:

And that was our last event together.
In 2015 we found out that things don't always go to plan. After putting in a lot of hard work into a young horse (Wes), we decided that we weren't the most compatible partnership. He returned to his previous home and this meant that I was horseless for 6 months. It was bad timing because both Socks and Wes left me within two days! Not the best weekend...
With confidence knocked, we went to try some horses. Let's just say that being as nosy as you like is the best policy, after we almost traveled over 100 miles before finding its whole history on social media - not a good one at that! I did lots of snooping for every horse we looked at, and I found everything from suspensory ligaments damaged to rearing! Although it took a while, I have now found a lovely horse from a very honest family and she is all I hoped for and more. Introducing King's Ceilidh! Follow my twitter for regular updates.
I admit, I haven't competed much last year. But I've learnt how to ride! I've been having lessons with the fantastic Alec Miles, on my Mum's horse Praline, and Ceilidh (aka KC), and I have progressed lots. I am feeling far more confident on the flat and I am excited for 2016 to see what it brings Ceilidh and I.
