Hi,
So finally I have a blog! I feel like it's almost old fashioned compared to YouTube and Twitter but I'm enjoying it now I've got my head around it.
Due to the transitions with horses, I won't be reporting on many competitions this season as I may not have anything to compete as my pony is sadly for sale. However, I hope my blog will be relevant to lots of riders, especially those who produce or bring on inexperienced horses. I work hard with limited facilities, on my animals, but I am very fortunate to have instructors and a fantastic Pony Club nearby.
At this stage, I'm not sure I'd want a "made" horse or eventer, no matter how successful. The thrill and pride you get simply from riding, let alone winning, on a self-produced horse or pony simply cannot be beaten. I (somewhat naively) assume I will be able to do this with my new horse, Wes, a 4 year old 16.1hh. I will inform you of our progress and I hope it will be useful and informative for those of you educating and riding your horses.
As well as a blog, I hope to have a handful of "course walk" photos as personally I find these very useful. I also aim to have some useful articles on what I have learnt, relatable problem solving and perhaps some forums - what do you think? Let me know in the comments!
Thanks for reading my rambling...
Ella
